There is a new Team Vicar in the Salford, All Saints Team. Rev Charlie Gorton. Charlie has sent us the following:

Charles Gorton -Team Vicar within the Salford All Saints Team Ministry, with pastoral responsibility for the parish of Weaste, Seedley & Langworthy, the Parish Church of St Luke with All Saints, and Emmanuel Local Ecumenical Project.

Charlie was born in Grantham and has lived in the Manchester area from an early age. He studied Comparative Religion and English at Sussex University and before training for the Priesthood at Salisbury and Wells Theological College experienced Priestly and Pastoral ministry in a variety of Parishes in London most notably in North Lambeth Team Ministry and the Elephant and Castle as well as volunteering at Centrepoint Night Shelter for the young homeless which was based in Soho and spent some time at Holy Innocents, Fallowfield as a Pastoral Assistant.

Charlie was Ordained Deacon in1989 and Priest in 1990 serving curacies at William Temple, Wythenshawe, St. Cuthbert, Miles Platting and The Apostles, Manchester. Parish Priest of St. George, Abbey Hey for eight years and from 2002 Parish Priest of St. Chad, New Moston as well as being Parish Priest of St.John, Moston.

Married Jan in 1994 her interests include socialising and Cross Stitch Card Making and will make cards to order Jan and Charlie have two lovely daughters Jessica aged 15 whose interests include anything concerning New York and Olivia aged 12 whose interests include cooking and baking.

Charlie’s interests include cycling, golf, scalextric and Italian Crime Mysteries. All of us are Looking forward to working in Salford and experiencing the challenges ahead.
